If you're not sure that Twitter will work for you just take a look at Simone and Ian Clarkin.  They tweet for their business mmm food at Newcastle's Grainger Market to almost 10,000 followers. They tweet about their latest products, give a daily wildlife report and their customers tweet to reserve their scrummy bread for collection later.

Many markets have Twitter accounts. The fabulous Borough Market tweet about the fresh seasonal food available (with photos) and market events, such as the regular Demo Kitchen, to 6,600 followers.
